Betamethasone phosphate 0.25 mg capsules compounded in our clean room laboratory are primarily used to treat bronchial asthma, allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory skin disorders, polypous pansinusitis, and immunosuppression in transplantation. 

✓ In the pharmaceutical compounding process, only high purity active substances are used, in compliance with the RBPF (Rules of Good Pharmaceutical Practice). The use of standardized drugs is excluded from this compounding process.

Pharmacological properties

  • Betamethasone phosphate is a small molecule corticosteroid recommended for oral administration. It is highly soluble in water, therefore the risk of causing local gastric irritation is reduced, compared to other forms of betamethasone (e.g. valerate, dipropionate) which are intended for topical administration. It reaches its maximum systemic effect within a few hours of administration, compared to other betamethasone salts (e.g. valerate, propionate) which may exert their effect several weeks after ingestion.
    Betamethasone phosphate does not directly cause salt and water retention in the body, thus significantly reducing the risk of edema and high blood pressure.

Warnings and precautions

The therapeutic approach must be individualized by your doctor, taking into account the severity and type of the condition.

  • Please follow the administration recommended in the prescription! 
  • Personalized treatments can be modified depending on your state of health and compliance with the treatment.
  • Do not use more product or more often than recommended.
  • This preparation was prescribed only for the current pathology.
  • Do not use it later for another condition without the doctor's consent.
  • It is recommended, during long-term treatments, a correct and complete communication with the doctor, in order to be able to change the dose according to the evolution of the disease.
  • It is administered orally, according to the doctor's instructions.
  • It is recommended to take the preparation at the same time every day. 
  • If you missed a dose, do not take a double dose to compensate.
  • Please inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medications or preparations, including those without a prescription, if you are undergoing other treatments or if you have recently suffered a myocardial infarction, if you have hypothyroidism, myasthenia gravis, osteoporosis, congestive heart failure, diabetes, glaucoma or a family history of glaucoma, liver failure, kidney failure, epilepsy, existing history or history of severe affective disorders, etc.
  • In children, glucocorticoids can cause growth retardation. For this reason, it is recommended to monitor this aspect, and as far as possible, treatment should be limited to the minimum dose that produces the desired therapeutic effect. 
  • It is not recommended to abruptly discontinue treatment without the doctor's consent.
  • Gradual discontinuation of corticosteroid therapy should be considered even for treatments lasting less than 3 weeks.
  • The preparation does not contain gluten.
  • The preparation may contain lactose. In case of intolerance, you can request the preparation without lactose.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Do not use the compounded preparation after the expiration date.
