WHAT ARE CUSTOMIZED / COMPOUNDED PREPARATIONS?

CUSTOMIZED / COMPOUNDED PREPARATIONS ARE THE SOLUTION FOR
A TREATMENT WHICH ADDRESSES THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF EACH PATIENT.
Personalized/compounded preparations are prescribed by a doctor and made in the Crisia Farm Laboratory by professionals specially trained in pharmaceutical compounding.
The art of compounding combines scientific elements with innovations in the medical field, using advanced technologies and state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
TRADITION OF COMPOUNDED PREPARATIONS
On the territory of Romania, the pharmaceutical compounding in the pharmacy laboratory, has been documented since the 15th century - 1494, Sibiu.
It all started with a mortar, which, in fact, is still present today in the pharmacy laboratory, but which is now assisted by advanced, high-precision equipment and technologies, designed to perfect the execution of the compounded preparation.

At the beginning of the last century, most compounded products were prepared in the pharmacies` laboratories.
After 1989, many pharmacists gave up on pharmaceutical compounding and, over time, much of the tradition of compounded treatments was lost.

In recent years, physicians have begun to realize the benefits of personalized / compounded treatment, in an attempt to find the best solutions for each patient's specific needs that the pharmaceutical industry and manufactured drugs could no longer solve.
ADVANTAGES OF THE COMPOUNDED PREPARATION

Eliminates potentially allergenic substances which may appear in the composition of industrially produced medicines, such as preservatives, gluten, lactose, parabens or certain dyes.
Correct dosage of the active substance: compounding a preparation that can be dosed according to each patient's needs, given that on the market there are only drugs manufactured with a limited number of fixed concentrations.

Adapting the pharmaceutical form to the needs of each patient: compounding a preparation in liquid form for patients with swallowing difficulties or compounding a preparation for local administration for patients who are better suited to this therapeutic option.
Access to medicines that are not available on the market or that are no longer marketed in Romania, which can be recreated through pharmaceutical compounding based on the medical prescription.
