Recurrent cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, usually associated with frequent bacterial infections, causing significant discomfort. The condition affects quality of life, especially due to the frequency of symptoms and possible recurrences.
How does it manifest itself?
Symptoms may include:
- frequent urination
- pain or burning when urinating
- feeling of a full bladder
- disconfort abdominal inferior
- cloudy or foul-smelling urine
Causes and Mechanism
The main cause is bacterial colonization of the urinary tract, frequently with E. coli. Contributing factors include inadequate hygiene, urinary retention, imbalances in vaginal flora, diabetes, or minor immunodeficiency. Inflammation of the bladder mucosa increases local sensitivity and promotes a burning sensation.
