Fosfomycin powder for oral suspension compounded in the clean room laboratory is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of urinary tract infections, acute cystitis caused by E.coli, E.faecalis, in the prophylaxis of urinary tract infections, as well as infections caused by pathogens sensitive to fosfomycin.

✓In the pharmaceutical compounding process, only high purity active substances are used, in compliance with the RBPF (Rules of Good Pharmaceutical Practice). The use of capsules or standardized drugs is excluded from this compounding process.

Pharmacological properties

  • Fosfomycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections. Its mechanism of action is to reduce the adhesion of bacteria to the bladder wall, thus helping to reduce the recurrence of infections.
  • It can also be used successfully in the prevention of acute cystitis and urinary tract infections caused by sensitive pathogens.

Warnings and precautions

The therapeutic approach must be individualized by the doctor, taking into account the severity and type of symptoms.

  • Please follow the administration recommended in the prescription!
  • Personalized treatments can be modified depending on your state of health and compliance with the treatment.
  • Do not use more product or more often than recommended.
  • This preparation was prescribed only for the current pathology.
  • Do not use it later for another condition without the doctor's consent.
  • It is recommended, during long-term treatments, a correct and complete communication with the doctor, in order to be able to change the dose according to the evolution of the disease.
  • The preparation is for oral use only, immediately after dissolving in water, using the vial.
  • Do not dissolve the powder in hot water.
  • It is recommended to shake the bottle well before administration, until the powder dissolves.
  • Do not administer the dry powder without first diluting it in water. 
  • It is recommended to take the preparation on an empty stomach, 2-3 hours after meals, preferably before bedtime after emptying the bladder.
  • It is not recommended to take the preparation in case of sensitivity or allergy to the active substance.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had persistent bladder infections or diarrhea after taking any other antibiotic. 
  • It is recommended to contact your doctor if symptoms such as: stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, vaginal itching, runny nose, back pain, fever, joint pain, rash, inflammation of the mouth or tongue, yellowing of the skin or eyes occur.
  • Do not use more or less than the prescribed dose or more often than prescribed by your doctor. 
  • It is not recommended to combine the preparation with other medications or preparations without the doctor's consent.
  • The preparation does not contain preservatives.
  • The preparation contains sweetener. If you do not want sweetener, request a personalized preparation separately.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Do not use the compounded preparation after the expiration date.
