Tranexamic acid capsules 500 mg compounded in the clean room laboratory are mainly used to prevent bleeding following surgical interventions, prevent bleeding after dental extraction in patients with hemophilia, in the treatment and prophylaxis of bleeding associated with excessive fibrinolysis after prostatectomy, in menorrhagia and in case of hereditary angioedema.

Pharmacological properties

  • Tranexamic acid belongs to a group of substances called antihemorrhagics, antifibrinolytics, preparations that control bleeding.

Warnings and precautions

The therapeutic approach must be individualized by the doctor, taking into account the severity and type of symptoms.

  • It is administered orally, according to the doctor's instructions.

  • If you missed a dose, do not take a double dose to compensate.
  • Please inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medications or preparations, including those without a prescription, if you are undergoing other treatments or if you have conditions such as vision problems, seizures, hematuria, risk factors for thrombophilic disease, or if you are taking oral contraceptives or estrogens.
  • Depending on each person's sensitivity, symptoms such as dizziness, vomiting, nausea, hypotension, etc. may occur. If any of these persist or worsen, it is recommended that you contact your doctor.
  • It is recommended to maintain a high fluid intake to promote renal elimination. 
  • The preparation does not contain gluten.
  • The preparation may contain lactose. In case of intolerance, you can request the preparation without lactose.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Do not use the compounded preparation after the expiration date.
