PRODUCT CODE: Tranexamic acid 3%, kojic acid 4%, nicotinamide 5%
Pharmacological properties
The formula is indicated for treating pigment spots, but also as a maintenance treatment after they disappear.
- Tranexamic acid is used in dermatology for the improvement of melasma and as a maintenance treatment for hereditary angioedema and urticaria. It shrinks the dermal vasculature and reduces melanin synthesis. Topical tranexamic acid has been shown to have few side effects.
- Kojic acid is a cosmetic active ingredient recognized especially for its skin depigmenting effect, that inhibits melanin production. In addition to its skin lightening effect, kojic acid is also appreciated as an antioxidant agent. It reduces and fades age spots, sun spots, freckles or other unsightly pigmentation on the skin.
- Nicotinamide, also known as niacinamide, is a form of vitamin B3, a key element in many cosmetic products, which works by reducing enlarged pores, brightening dull skin, and being a good anti-inflammatory agent.
- It protects the skin from the negative effects caused by ultraviolet rays. It has a photoprotective role, reducing the effects that UVA and UVB radiation can have on the skin.
