Pharmacological properties
Clorfeniramina este un antihistaminic H1-blocant, care actioneaza prin inhibarea competitiva a receptorilor histaminici H1, reducand astfel efectele histaminei endogene (vasodilatatie, permeabilitate vasculara crescuta, prurit).
Proprietati principale:
- Antialergic: reduce simptomele rinitei alergice si ale urticariei.
- Antipruriginos: scade senzatia de mancarime.
- Sedativ usor: traverseaza bariera hemato-encefalica si poate induce somnolența.
- Anticolinergic moderat: poate produce uscaciunea mucoaselor si diminuarea secretiilor.

- Se administreaza cu precautie la pacientii cu: glaucom cu unghi inchis, hipertrofie de prostata, retentie urinara, boli cardiovasculare, afectiuni respiratorii (ex. astm sever).
