Naltrexona este un antagonist competitiv al receptorilor opioizi μ, κ și δ, fara proprietati agoniste sau euforizante.
Proprietati principale:
- Blocheaza efectele opioidelor (analgezice opioide, heroina, morfina), prevenind aparitia euforiei sau efectelor recompensatorii.
- Reduce cravingul pentru alcool, prin modularea sistemelor opioide implicate in recompensa si comportamentul adictiv.
- Efect prelungit, ceea ce permite administrarea zilnica sau la intervale stabilite de specialist.
- Nu produce dependenta si nu are potential de abuz.
