Pharmacological properties
- Formarea unui strat protector: in mediul acid, sucralfatul se transforma intr-o substanta vascoasa care adera la zonele leziunilor gastrice sau duodenale, protejandu-le de acidul gastric, pepsina si sarurile biliare.
- Stimularea regenerarii mucoasei: creste productia locala de prostaglandine, mucus si bicarbonat, favorizand vindecarea.
- Actiune anti-peptica: reduce activitatea pepsinei prin legare directa.
- Absorbtie sistemica minima, actionand aproape exclusiv local, ceea ce confera un profil de siguranta bun.

- Sucralfatul poate reduce absorbtia unor medicamente, inclusiv: antibiotice (tetracicline, fluorochinolone), digoxin, levothyroxina, anticonvulsivante, antiacide.
- Se recomanda administrarea la interval de 2 ore fata de alte medicamente.
- Poate provoca constipatie, mai ales la varstnici sau in asociere cu alte medicamente cu efect constipant.
