Sulfathiazole 300mg, metronidazole 500mg, boric acid 50mg, nystatin 100mg, vitamin A vaginal suppositories compounded in our clean room laboratory, are mainly used for vaginitis, vaginosis, vaginal candidiasis and infections of the reproductive system.

Pharmacological properties

  • Sulfathiazole – belongs to the sulfonamide group, has a broad spectrum of action, including bacteria such as Chlamydia, Toxoplasma and Histoplasma capsulatum.
  • Metronidazole – imidazole derivative, active against protozoa and bacteria, potentiating the activity of the antibiotic.
  • Boric acid has an antiseptic effect, also acting on various species of Candida.
  • Nystatin is used to treat vaginal infections caused by fungi of the Candida species. 
  • Vitamin A – is essential for the proper functioning of the reproductive system, helps in the process of cellular repair.

Warnings and precautions

The therapeutic approach must be individualized by the doctor, taking into account the severity and type of symptoms.

  • Please follow the administration recommended in the prescription! 
  • Personalized treatments can be modified depending on your state of health and compliance with the treatment.
  • Do not use more product or more often than recommended.
  • This preparation was prescribed only for the current pathology.
  • Do not use it later for another condition without the doctor's consent.
  • It is recommended, during long-term treatments, a correct and complete communication with the doctor, in order to be able to change the dose according to the evolution of the disease.
  • It is not recommended to take the preparation in case of sensitivity or allergy to the active substance.
  • If you missed a dose, do not take a double dose to compensate.
  • The treatment may also be accompanied by other oral/vaginal preparations, if your doctor considers this beneficial. 
  • In certain cases, it is absolutely necessary for the partner to be treated, regardless of whether or not they have clinical signs.
  • Practicing protected sex/sexual abstinence is recommended as the main measure to prevent transmission of the infection from one partner to another.
  • It is recommended to avoid preparations such as internal tampons, vaginal douches during treatment and for 3 days after the end of treatment. These may lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the treatment. 
  • Due to the treatment followed, it is possible that a change in urine color may occur, generally a darker urine color.
  • It is not recommended to consume alcoholic beverages or other preparations containing alcohol during treatment, due to the risk of reactions such as hot flushes, associated with redness of the face, dizziness, depending on the sensitivity of each person.
  • If any symptoms of a reaction occur (severe rash, itching or swelling of the application area), it is necessary to seek medical attention.
  • The magistral preparation does not contain ingredients of animal origin. The pharmacologically inert base is free of perfume, parabens and latex, does not contain MI/MCI and consists of hydrogenated oils of vegetable origin.
  • Keep out of reach of children. 
  • Do not use the compounded preparation after the expiration date.
